On January 16 and 17, 2015, a work team headed by executive VP TIAN Qing travelled to the Xundian and Yuxi Huaning counties for investigation & research and paid a visit to frontline employees at local Daphne bases, including Dapingdi, Tiechang base, Haiwei and Daqinghe in Diansha, and Hongyan in Qinglong.

On the January 16 afternoon, the investigation & research team arrived at Dapingdi, Tiechang, Haiwei and Daqinghe in Diansha, Xundian. After being briefed on construction of the bases, they asked for a picture of restoration from the snow and frost disasters leading to collapse of Panax notoginseng sheds since January 9. According to statistics, 230 mu ( =230/15 15.33 ha.) of 2-year-long base in Dapingdi and another 730 mu ( =730/15 48.67 ha) of 2-year-long base in Tiechang rode out the blizzard. All the 7 sheds are intact. Dapingdi has not started seedling transplantation as yet. Tiechang has transplanted more than 1,000 plots of seedlings. Haiwei's 600 mu ( =600/15 40 ha.) of 2-year-long bases has completed transplantation of more than 1,100 plots of seedlings. Of that, more than 1,000 plots of seedlings collapsed. At Daqinghe's 1200 mu ( =1200/1580 ha.) of 3-year-old bases, more than 30k plots collapsed. Currently, 2/3 of the damaged sheds at Haiwei and Daqinghe has been repaired. The rest is expected to be repaired completely in 5 days after stop of rainfall. The investigation & research team asked the employees about their life and work, and difficulties they faced, and urged them to take care of themselves in the cold season, making the employees feel warm in heart. At Tiechang, technicians are guiding farmers to transplant the seedlings. Mr. ZHANG Chaofei, person in charge of the base, said that they would try to complete plantation before Beginning of Spring. The investigation & research team gave positive comment on the work at the base, and instructed them to complete the task on schedule. They also encouraged the employees to continue their effort and overcome the difficulties, in order to have a bumper harvest ahead.

On the January 17 afternoon, the investigation & research team toured Hongyan in Qinglong, Huaning, Yuxi. The narrow roads wind up along steep mountains. Due to the bad weather, the road surface was frozen and slippery. They had to pull off the van, and braved the rain and bone chilling breeze to walk1 kmto the base. Hongyan has 360 mu ( =360/15 24 ha.) of Panax notoginseng field. Of that, 200 mu ( =200/15 13.33 ha.) collapsed due to blizzard. But the base employees are not daunted. Under leadership of their head, Mr. LOU Shicong, they braved the cold weather to carry out repair. So far, 1/3 of the sheds have been repaired. The rest of the damaged sheds are expected to be repaired in the next 7 days. They try to complete transplantation before Beginning of Spring. After hearing report, the team inspected the site for the condition, and urged the base head to take care of safety and health in the same time of organizing repair. The team officials stressed that collapse of the sheds due to effect of the blizzard affect progress of transplantation. To meet the deadline - Beginning of Spring, they have to cope with heavy workload and stress in limited time. The base employees need to go the extra mile and overcome the difficulties to ensure the overall interest of the Company. In spite of the harsh weather, use the best to complete transplantation anyway before Beginning of Spring, and well maintain the base to fuel and inspire development of the Company.
