On
November 24 to 25, 2013, a review panel of 9 headed by Professor Gao Zhifang
carried out site review at Daphne for the First Wenshan Prefectural Quality
Management Award Competition. To ensure that the review is conducted in a
fair, just and open manner, the Wenshan Prefectural Discipline Inspection
Commission tracked the process from the end to end.
Wenshan Prefectural Quality
Management Awards are established by the Prefectural Party Committee and
government with the aim at encouraging upgrading of quality management in key
sectors such as advanced manufacturing, emerging strategic industry, modern
agriculture & service industry and energy-saving & environmental
industry, and pushing steady growth of the local
economy and achievement of economic restructuring. Upon receipt of notice
from the Wenshan Prefectural Quality Upgrading Office, Daphne set up a management team for application for the quality
management awards. The team is headed by the production VP Li Mingkun, and
the members come from relevant departments. Through data sorting, preparation
and summarization, a set of application materials were completed and
submitted to the Wenshan Prefectural Quality Upgrading Office. Through tight,
careful and meticulous review by 14 experts from the Prefecture and external
regions, Daphne made it on the shortlist of 6 and entered into the stage of
site review.
The site review was carried out as
per the requirements of the
Yunnan Provincial People's Government Criteria for Quality Management Award Appraisal, the Yunnan Provincial Government Guide
for Review for Quality Management Award Competition and the Wenshan Prefectural People's
Government Regulations on Review for Quality Management Award Competition.
The methods adopted in the review include “listening, looking, checking,
interviewing, asking, discussion and appraisal". Opening meeting,
closing meeting, middle & senior management meeting and talks with production line worker were held. The experts also checked out
the production flow and data and communicated with Daphne's staff. According
to the performance in the areas of leadership, strategy,
customer & market, resources, process management, measurement analysis
& improvement and operating results, the suitability, effectiveness and
degree of maturity of the internal management was well considered and
appraised, and the site review report was formed. Through the site review, the
panel takes the view that Daphne has distinct corporate culture, fulfills
social responsibility actively, pays attention to technical development and intellectual property protection, steps up construction of the panax notoginseng GAP base, forges
a complete panax notoginseng industry chain, and has advanced infrastructure,
providing guarantee for sustained expansion of the production and business
size. But there is still room for improvement in the areas of strategic
planning & implementation, restructuring of product sales organization, systematic monitoring and improvement
of the operating performance, and personal development. The experts hope that Daphne will continue to
strengthen quality management, improve the weak areas, and widen the advantages,
so as to achieve the set strategic goals as early as possible.
