At 16: 30, August 3, 2014, a 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck Ludian, Zhaotong, Yunnan. The victims include a population of 1.0884m in Ludian, Qiaojia, Zhaoyang and Yongshan in Zhaotong and Huize in Qujiang. The event caused 615 deaths, 3143 injuries, 229,700 homeless and 80900 homes (involving 25800 households) collapsed. Shortly after the occurrence, under instruction of Chairman Tang Xiuwen, standing VP Tian Qing informed Wenshan Prefectural Red Cross of decision on donation of drugs. At a brief donation ceremony held at Daphne on the August 8 afternoon, standing VP Tian Qing, on behalf of Daphne, donated £¤1m worth of drugs to the earthquake-stricken area. Leaders from the Wenshan Prefectural Red Cross also attended the ceremony. On the next day, Daphne delivered the drugs to the Puzhehei Airport for shipment to earthquake-stricken area in Ludian.
