       On the August 9 afternoon, a delegation of about 80 attending a provincial symposium of procurators general visited panax notoginseng showroom and Daphne exhibition hall, with accompaniment of Zhou Heyu, Prefectural Procurator General.
     At the panax notoginseng showroom, the guests heard introduction to the history and culture of panax notoginseng. Panax notoginseng is dubbed something more valuable than gold, best specie of ginseng and magic plant in south China. Wenshan, reputed as the origin and leading producer, produces the choicest panax notoginseng, and enjoys the longest history of growing. Domestication/cultivation of the plant also has a long history in Wenshan. It is no wonder Wenshan is named by the state as “home of panax notoginseng”. Literally, use of the plant has a history of more than 600 years.
     The guests found their knowledge much enriched with the panax notoginseng cultivating and serving culture displayed in the showroom. Use of panax notoginseng as foodstuff may be dated back many centuries. The famous dish “panax notoginseng pot chicken” is just the best example of use of panax notoginseng in food.
      Leaving the panax notoginseng showroom, the guests rode to the Daphne Exhibition Hall, where President Tang presented the history of Daphne and particularly the active panax notoginseng product produced with the low temperature freezing and drying technology. With the advantages of easy carriage and service and well-preserved active and effective ingredients, active panax notoginseng makes the best choice as health food and gift.
      After completion of the visit, the guests left with satisfaction.
