Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Yunnan Established
        At 10 a.m. January 19, amid the flowers and martial music, the Wenshan County CPC Committee auditorium witnessed a major event in the economic life of the Wenshan County – founding ceremony of the Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Yunnan. A team of prefectural officials headed by the prefectural Party leaders Zhang Tianxin, Wang Yongkui, Huang Peiyi, Ren Yong, Liu Jianhua, Wang Yunling and Song Jialin attended the ceremony to extend their congratulations. 
        The ceremony was chaired by Fu Jiaxing, standing member of the Prefectural Party Committee, and Party chief of Wenshan. Zhang Shiqiang, chief at Department III, Provincial Government General Office addressed a congratulation letter on behalf of Huang Bingsheng, vice provincial governor. Tang Xiuwen, Chairman and President at the Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Yunnan gave an introduction to restructuring of their company. 
        The original Daphne Co. was established in May 1994. Under support of the Prefectural and Wenshan County CPC Committees, governments and relevant departments, they had experienced 3 year's startup exploration and another 3 year's fast and healthy evolvement. From 1998 to 2000, the Daphne Co. hit a way of skyrocketing business. During this period, the new products and technologies were upgraded, equipment was updated, and production capacity and market sales were increased. During the 3 years, the company paid taxes of RMB 11.41 million yuan, with profit of RMB 8.152 million yuan, and total sales income of RMB 125.9 million yuan. The assets increased from RMB 600,000 yuan in 1994 to RMB 70 million yuan in 2000, a 114-fold increase. 
        2000 marked a year of great harvest for the Daphne Co. In that year, the company obtained GMP certificate issued by the state FDA, and jumped onto the list of top 100 enterprises and certified high-tech enterprise in Yunnan. On December 2 the same year, Daphne panax pseudoginseng industry press release conference was held at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. Daphne, as a private enterprise, is gaining ground by riding the global wave of "back to the nature". They base the business on the unique panax pseudoginseng resource in Wenshan, develop panax pseudoginseng series drugs, and implement the business strategy of "relying on quality to create brand, seek survival, promote development and grab market", which are roots of their success. Now, the restructured Daphne form strong-strong alliance with the Yunnan University Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. and Beijing Pudao Investment Co., Ltd., by including them as Daphne's principal shareholders, thus forming a modern enterprise integrating research, development, production and sales of panax pseudoginseng, with much stronger force powering the technical development in the future. 
        The founding ceremony of the Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Yunnan marked a milestone in Daphne's evolvement. Daphne will tap its own advantage and the capital and technical advantage brought by the new shareholders, and grab the opportunity brought by the state's implementation of the Great West China Development strategy and Yunnan's vow to construct a green economic power. Fueled by the state's favorable policies for the pharmaceutical industry, they will try their best to push development of the panax pseudoginseng industry. In the meantime, they will try to get listed as early as possible to absorb more capital and develop into a modern specialized pharmaceutical giant.
