Yunnan Wenshan Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Obtained GMP Certificate
In April, amid the ubiquitous azalea blossoms, the Wenshan County on border was inspired by good news: the Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. obtained GMP Certificate issued by China FDA for the drugs. It made a stir in the whole county! The local enterprises got excited! The pharmaceutical peers were shocked: an unknown small factory became the second pharmaceutical enterprise in the province obtaining the GMP certificate! The Daphne Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was founded in the initial year of the Ninth Five-year Plan Period. The Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government advanced strategic thoughts of "to develop a modern pharmaceutical industry focusing on natural drugs and make it a new advantageous industry in Yunnan", surrounding which clear thread, targets and highlights were set out. This setting provides a great opportunity for development of the pharmaceutical industry. In a period of as short as 6 years starting from the end of 1994 when the factory was established, the company emerged quickly. So far, their production premises, covering an area of several hundred square meters, have expanded to cover an area of more than 30,000 square meters. More than 160 persons were sent to Kunming, Chengdu, Nanjing and Beijing to learn knowledge of pharmaceutical production, inspection, mechanical maintenance, enterprise management and marketing. The enterprise also encourages the staff to participate in self-improvement activities, which tuition fees may be completely reimbursed once they are certified. Implementation of the GMP certification system is a means imposed by the state for supervision and inspection of drug manufacturer, being a major item of drug administration and an advanced management method ensuring drug quality.
