Daphne Board of Directors Office 3rd Issue of 2010 March 2, 2010
Currently, the Wenshan Prefecture is experiencing the worst drought for 60 years. The ongoing drought has set a record in the prefectural history in terms of duration, coverage and impact. As a result, severe impact has been produced on the local farming and supply of drinking water, and heavy losses on the local industrial and agricultural production are reported. In face of such disaster, the central, provincial and prefectural Party committees and governments stress the disaster relief activities by appropriating much fund. Considering severity of the disaster, the prefectural Party Committee and government call on the community to make donation for the stricken areas.
On March 2, 2010, the Wenshan Prefectural CPPCC organized a charitable donation activity, in which people from the democratic parties, federation of industry and non-public economic sectors participated and responded actively to the call. At the event, Daphne substantiated the spirit of love and demonstrated the corporate social responsibility by donating RMB 100,000 yuan as practical action to help the affected people out of the trouble.
