Under concern and support of the provincial and prefectural planning commissions, Wenshan county Development & Planning Bureau, the Park Management Committee and relevant departments, and leadership of the prefectural and Wenshan county Party Committee and government, the "Wenshan Panax Pseudoginseng Int'l Trading Center" project has got through the pre-construction activities on schedule, such as feasibility study, planning and design. Now its construction is kicked off. Here, on behalf of all Daphne's staff, I would like to welcome Your Excellencies, ladies and gentlemen to this Construction Start Ceremony, and extend our cordial gratitude for your concern and support these years. Now, I would like to give a brief introduction to this project.
The Wenshan Panax Pseudoginseng Int'l Trading Center construction project was approved by the provincial commission for development and reform by document Yun Fa Gai Jing Mao [2004] No. 179. The project covers an area of 43543 square meters (including 20047.56 square meters covered by building), total floor area of 50376.67 square meters, and total investment of RMB 62.8241 million yuan, being a major investment project implemented by the Daphne Group with strategic and development significance.
Trading Center is located in the front of the panax pseudoginseng industrial park, southward oriented. The market is close to a main artery of the city, enjoying convenient transport. As a main common building in the panax pseudoginseng industrial park, it constitutes a part of the public service group together with the Management Committee Comprehensive Building, hotel, R&D Center and Convention Center. Its major function is central display and trading of raw material, primary product and intensively processed product of panax pseudoginseng. For one, the need of large-size product display and sales function should be met. Second, the need of specialized product trading and central management thereof in the ordinary time is met. Third, organizations serving the two functions above will be established, including banking, management, conference, trade talk and leisure service facilities. The layout plan is divided into three sections. The east and west wings are internal courtyard-type trading places designed to meet the need of product trading. Considering the psychological and behavior need of the persons appearing on the market trading place, the stores are laid out in a square pattern. The standard store area is 6 m¡Á9 m or 6 m¡Á12 m each. Each floor has totally 112 stores. The building is laid out in a way equal with the urban roads, with each channel 3-4.5 m wide. Length of each section of channel is no longer than 20 m, thus to avoid psychological fatigue that might be caused by too long trading channel, and inspire the trading desire. The building is a 3-story structure, with an internal courtyard inside. The internal courtyard will serve as indoor center in regular time to inspire the shopping desire. When a product trading conference is held, it may serve as a temporary exhibition place. The central part will house the major management and service organizations of the market. The central part is a 7-store structure, with the ground floor serving as pedestrian passage.  Empty space of two floor height, 24 m wide, is arranged in local areas to ensure space at main pedestrian entrances of the park and market. 4 escalators will be established to transport the riders up and down, thus to meet the need of transport of large passenger flow, and give a better class and image of the market. The second floor will be equipped with two trading halls with gumbo electronic screen.  Offices and conference rooms are arranged, with Floors 6 & 7 serving as large show halls to show the panax pseudoginseng history and industrial culture.
The uniqueness and production concentration of Wenshan panax pseudoginseng is taken into consideration when the appearance of the Trading Center is designed, giving display of its unique spot and performance in modern days. The whole building highlights the theme clearly. The Center's protruding design, robust structure and streamlined curve symbolize takeoff of panax pseudoginseng from here to fly to the rest of the world. The whole building constitutes a one-piece work, with strong modern air and unique Wenshan style.
Construction of the Wenshan Panax Pseudoginseng Int'l Trading Center is a highlight drawing attention from the Party Committees and governments of all levels and the public. Knowing this, we will concentrate our force and raise enough money to step up construction of the Center. We will also strengthen management of the project, and exercise tight quality control, and complete the construction works on schedule. In the meantime, we will develop relevant preferential policy and perfect management service measures to absorb more dealers and create big market and big circulation of Wenshan panax pseudoginseng, so as to make new contribution to fast development of the panax pseudoginseng industry.
